CHELTENHAM MP MARTIN HORWOOD WEARS HIS!

Cheltenham's MP Martin Horwood has joined the Bishop of Gloucester in supporting Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust by wearing his wellies for wildlife too!

Mr Horwood said "As a member of Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust, I am supporting Wear your Wellies for Wildlife because I think it is really important both to support The Trust's work and to get everybody involved in protecting the Gloucestershire countryside. Most important of all, it is important to get children involved in something that's fun to teach them how important our green spaces are to everything we do."

It's great to have the support of such wonderful local figures who really appreciate and understand the importance of the work we do.

So c'mon, follow their lead and get yer wellies on!

BISHOP OF GLOUCESTER WEARS HIS WELLIES!

Yesterday, the Bishop of Gloucester, the Rt Revd Michael Perham showed his support for Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust by wearing his wellies!

The Trust wants people to have fun and help to raise awareness of wildlife and our beautiful wild places in Gloucestershire while at the same time raising much-needed funds so that valuable conservation work can continue in the county.

The Bishop highlighted the fundraising campaign by getting involved himself and donning his trusty green boots. He said:

"Protecting wild life for the future, locally in Gloucestershire as much as globally, is a really important part of saving the planet, our particular bit of God's creation. So I shall wear my wellies for wildlife with pride and enthusiasm to promote a really important cause."

Wear Your Wellies is Back!

30th March - 5th April 2009

Yes, it's that time of year again, when Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust asks YOU to show your support for wildlife in Gloucestershire by wearing your wellies!

The concept is simple - all you have to do is organise a day when your friends, family, work colleagues, school, community group or sports team pay a small donation (£1+) to wear their wellies as they go about their daily business.

All of the finds raised will go directly to Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust's valuable conservation work throughout the county.
So why not indulge in a day of silliness and do your bit for wildlife too!

The week of 30th March - 5th April is a focal point for the campaign, but you can hold an event at any time during the year.
